In Lavinia’s Framing, only the best quality conservation products are used, ensuring the highest quality of work. Lavinia herself, has more than 30 years of experience framing in San Miguel de Allende, Gto., which is an important art center in Central Mexico. Her innate gift and sensitivity for choosing the ideal presentation to enhance the simplest piece, allows her clients to “Rediscover the Art”.

As of Monday, March 25th 2018 Lavinia Ruiz will only take framing appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the following hours:

Mondays: 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM & 3:00 PM-5:30 PM

Wednesdays: 3:00 – 5:30 PM

Thursdays: 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM & 3:00 PM-5:30 PM

Any other requests outside of her schedule will have a fee of 500 pesos / hour. (In house and in store appointments)

About Us

Pictures speak loader than words… This is our chief restorer, Mariana Darinka Ferreiro Braun’s work (bottom). Not only does Mariana work in the private sector but also has won awards form the Mexican Government for her excellent work. All art is subject to deterioration owing to different factors such as the effect of the environment or just careless handling. The common environmental causes are changes in humidity, heat, UV damage caused by your home’s lighting, not just the sun… and every day’s pollution of our air. The organic materials that most paintings are made out and created are also subject to deterioration. The textile fibers loose elasticity from oxidation and become brittle, causing tears, holes, etc. In such cases it is possible also to restore the canvases using specialized restoration processes. Everything needs maintenance and so does your art valuables!
