DAWIT/MALDONADO is the study of the shared times of two artists and of the inseparable, arm in arm, growth of their art. Over a period of three decades their lives in Gto. Mexico have intertwined (at times collided), bound by an almost filial love of and collegial involvement with the art of painting.
In these pages we see not only Dawit’s and Maldonado”s individual evolutions but the development of a dialogue; an energetic and free exchange concerning the possibilities of figurative art at the turn of this century.
We are invited through this book to join them for a few steps on their artistic journey – one undertaken but not yet completed-
